Hello Everyone!
Good to see this site active again. I had been at the old site as well as KC forum. I look forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones...and I have loved Karen and the Carpenters for many years!

Just stopping in to say hello. I'm happy to see Rick is putting so much effort into the site and getting it going again! I couldn't have passed the torch onto a better Carpenter's fan! I'm formally known as LeadSister...the previous owner since I started the site in 1996. Don't remember what year I got the domain LeadSister.com so I need to look that up. I haven't forgotten Rick to write something up about how Leadsister got started etc!! I've just been SUPER busy. But it's still on my mind and I'll get it out to you soon... I promise!

Hi all..I'm Chuck from Austin, TX. I was a member of the KCF boards..Like everyone here, lifelong fan of the Carpenters. I post many times on my FB page that Karen had THE best female signing voice ever. My dad and I always agreed, there was no voice more Angelic than Karen. I would visit the old forums every 4-5 months or so to catch up - what happened to them? I just checked in tonight - did something happen to the old site, was it spammed? anyway, grateful there's another Forum about Karen & The Carpenters. Thank you to the folks @ LS .. Look forward to learning/chatting with some of you. BTW, the pup in my photo is Maxx, he's a 3-year-old rescue Bichon Havanese. We both say, Merry Christmas to all!

Not sure what you mean by "the old forums", but this website changed hands sometime this year and the forums got wiped in the process. I'm assuming that the new owner wanted a brand new feel to the place and so the forum had to go.
The karencarpenter.com forums haven't been there for a while, but the owner tends to run out of cash now and then and can't seem to keep it online - not sure if that's the reason this time.
There's still a forum at A&M Corner as far as I know and the 'official' website www.richardandkarencarpenter.com hasn't been updated since 2008 - I've no idea what would need to happen for that site to be updated, maybe a wedding of one of Richard's children.
Those are the only forums I know of.
Welcome aboard Chuck

Amy, Chris and Leanne are on facebook. I'll send them a note, I completely forgot! It's been a crazy week. Yo! Amy's back! It's been SO long. So much has happened to me since I was last active on the forum. I joined the previous forum in early 2006. Annie Bananie quickly realized that she would need to medicate me for NOKS. Had it bad, still do. I'm still in Knoxville, TN. Born and raised here. Thanks to Rick's nice compilation of their tour dates, I now know that Karen and Richard graced Knoxville with their presence on 6/27/73…roughly four years before I arrived, but my parents and sister were here, so that counts. My now 4.5 year old son, Nate, keeps me busy. He is the love and joy of my life. My husband and I are so proud of him. He had a rough entry into this world and after learning that he'd suffered a stroke at birth when he was 17 months old, we found out after Christmas this past year that he suffered another brain injury at birth that didn't show on his first MRI. This injury is the leading cause of Cerebral Palsy in children, so a formal diagnosis of CP was made. His case could be considered mild, but the mitigating conditions that go along with CP are pretty moderate to severe in Nate. He still doesn't speak, but we are hopeful he will. He's a precious child and cute as can be to boot. And he loves Karen's voice because as any NOKS-crazed mother should do, I played her for him while he was in my belly and of course he's heard her a lot since he was born. He shares my love for music. Doctors have told us that when your speech is delayed the part of the brain that most responds to music is heightened. So, music is his thing. <3 I still keep up with several of the old members on Facebook. Chris needs to get on over here! Anyway, I just wanted to say hi and reintroduce myself.

Hello Rick Henry! My last birthday present from my friend is your work: "Carpenters - Album by Album: Song by Song". It's really impressed me! My name is Hibiki Itano, 22 years old boy from Vietnam. I've listened to Carpenters since I was 13. For sure, I'm a big fan of The Carpenters. I was influenced by Richard, so now I'm mainly a composer and pianist. I would like to make friend with people all aroung this forum. Please be kind!

Hello Hibiki Itano, Rick, new, and original members of Lead Sister. I am also an old one. Oh, I'm Trisce, But to be honest, I don't remember if that was my name in the original forum... I was just remembering the mighty fights this forum has seen and how much fun it was. When I first discovered Lead Sister I was finishing school in Bolivia, then moved to Italy, had a child. Moved to New York and the only constant during all that time has been my love for Karen and The Carpenters' music. I lost touch with everyone because I suck at answering emails, but it would be awesome to reconnect. Anyway, hugs to everybody!

Hello everyone. Took some Wikipedia searches and a lot of whizzing around the net to find this site.
Glad to be here. I'm missing a sister, and know that Karen would've been a brilliant one.
