I am a biography junkie, especially with regards to singers, musicians and bands.
In the last few months I've read two on Michael Jackson, two on Elvis Presley, one on Tina Turner, and one on Judy Garland. It's interesting to read more than one biography on the same artist, especially when the artist has gone crazy or died early.
Has anyone read any good music-related biographies lately? And if you have, did you find it biased in one way or another?

Lorna Luft's biography about her life with her mother, Judy Garland, and beyond is great Patti Boyd's bio is really good, too. Of, course....THIS is awesome.

I recently listened to the audiobook of "I, Rhoda", by Valerie Harper. I was inspired to listen to her life story upon hearing of her terminal diagnosis. I wonder how she is doing today? The book was nice, it was fun to hear all the anecdotes of life at the Mary Tyler Moore show and Rhoda. (And that makes my first ever post!)

I recently read "Godless Americana: Race and Religious Rebels", by Sikivu Hutchinson. Great stuff. Godless Americana: Race and Religious Rebels Not really a biography though.

Seems that she's still hanging in there. I loved both the MTM show and Rhoda... and I love her attitude since her diagnosis... did you know that she has signed up for more television appearances? She's tough!

This one was good, too. I knew very little about him.

This one was good, too. I knew very little about him. I was wondering about that one! It's a fairly new release. I still can't recognize Michael Bolton without his big hair. Although it isn't a book, I watched the movie "Ray" about Ray Charles yesterday... Fantastic!
